Year 8 students in Art & Design will work on 5 different projects during the academic year, exploring a wide range of artistic techniques.

Research

Students will research and create written work about the artists associated with the topic they are covering.

  • Sweets – Sara Graham
  • Collaged ‘Bugs’ – Ergin Inan
  • Poly tile printing – Lucy Clacher
  • 2 other topics will be covered.

Design

As part of the design process students will collect a range of images to use for design ideas. They will then create artwork within sketchbooks to help develop ideas for the final artwork. They will also explore the use of media and learn how to apply for the best results within the final artwork.

Make

Practical making of the Artwork

Students will learn a wide variety of artistic techniques such as Collage, 3D structures, painting with Acrylic paints etc. They will then complete the final product demonstrating knowledge and practical making skills.
