Exploration

Delve into the wonderful, diverse world of ecosystems as we examine the variety of life living in Wales today. Did you know Wales has its own rainforests? Discover how they compare to those in the Tropics and how we can protect them. Explore the landscapes of Snowdonia and the impact that humans are having on it; and analyse the future options for our planet.

People

Go on a journey to discover where and why people live where they do in Wales. Develop your numeracy skills drawing a variety of graphs to show how population has changed over time. Work in groups to decide where in Wrexham would be best to build the homes of the future.

Journeys

Dive into rivers with us as we embark on a journey of discovery down the River Dee. See how the landforms shape our landscape from source to mouth, investigate how people use rivers for leisure and industry, and evaluate the ways that we can manage river flooding through independent enquiries into these ever changing landforms

Exciting Experiences

  • Test your fieldwork skills as we survey the ecosystem flora and fauna  found in our school grounds.
  • Visit Liverpool with us as we link with History to study the River Mersey and the role it as played in the Slave Trade
