At Darland High School, we take great pride in our uniform and in the smart appearance of our students. Our uniform is gender neutral and compulsory for all students, and it reflects our high standards, sense of belonging and shared identity as a school community.
We work closely in partnership with parents and carers to ensure that all students meet our expectations for uniform, appearance and presentation. These expectations apply to dress and hairstyles and are designed to support a positive learning environment where every student can feel confident and valued.
In the event of any unforeseen difficulties with uniform, parents and carers are encouraged to contact the appropriate Progress Coordinator so that we can work together to resolve the issue. By accepting a place at Darland High School, parents and carers agree to support these expectations and help uphold the high standards we set for all our students.
To support families with the cost of uniform and school-related items, parents and carers may be eligible for the School Essentials Grant provided by Wrexham County Borough Council. The grant can be used to help with the cost of school uniform, PE kit, footwear and essential equipment for school, ensuring that all students are able to meet our uniform expectations. Further information about eligibility and how to apply can be found at: https://www.wrexham.gov.uk/service/school-essentials-grant.
We understand that there may be times when families experience financial difficulty, and we encourage parents and carers to contact the school in confidence if they require additional support or advice. We are committed to working with families to ensure that every student feels confident, included and ready to learn.
